Seven kinds of conversations.
There’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy. Pick the room you need — or call and we’ll help you choose.
Individual
One-on-one work on anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, and the questions that don’t have easy answers.
Couples
Gottman Method and Emotion-Focused Therapy — for communication, trust, intimacy, and affair recovery.
Family
Structured sessions for grief, divorce, parenting strain, and the dynamics that hold a family together — or apart.
Children
Play, expressive arts, and child-adapted CBT for ages 3 and up. Working with parents, not around them.
Teens
A non-judgemental space for anxiety, identity, self-harm, and the parts of being a teen that need an outside ear.
Online
Encrypted video or phone sessions. Same therapists, same standards — available across Alberta.
Faith-based
Therapy that respects — or actively integrates — your faith tradition, with counsellors who get it.
All services
Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, addictions — the full picture in one place.
A quiet Calgary office — or sessions in yours.
In-person at 2640 30 St SW, or online across Alberta.
What it’s like to start.
Three steps. The first one’s free.
If the fit isn’t quite right after starting, tell your therapist or the office — we’ll talk through alternatives.
Eclectic by intent. Relationship first.
FP Counselling adopts an “eclectic approach to counselling, wholly dependent on the individual’s needs.” That phrasing matters — we don’t pre-commit to one framework when the people walking in the door don’t fit one. Our therapists are trained across CBT, DBT, EMDR, the Gottman Method, EFT, ACT, IFS, Narrative, Solution-Focused, Compassion-Focused, and Mindfulness-Based work. The shape of your therapy is built around what you’re working on, not slotted into what we happen to know.
Twenty minutes. On the phone. Free.
Tell us what’s going on and ask anything — insurance, format, fees, what a first session looks like. You’ll be on the call with one of our therapists, and we’ll go from there together. If we’re not the right practice for you, we’ll say so.
